Okay, so I know it is a little bit cooler today, but we have had some hot weather and hopefully we will have some more over the summer and with this in mind Yaxley Community Information Centre is holding an environment and health event on 23 July 2010, from 11am to 3pm, offering information and advice on all things ‘summery’.

Stay Safe in the Summer Sun
Staff from Huntingdonshire District Council’s environmental health and environment teams will be available, together with the Yaxley Group Practice, to give help and advice on how to keep yourself and your pets safe in the sun. There will be advice on food safety for barbecues and picnics, as well as tips on where to enjoy them. Yaxley Group practice are providing ‘health care in the sun’ information, and the environmental health team will be offering advice on how to get rid of summer pests. The environment team will be running a children’s activity based around how we use the sun’s energy.
”The summer is a time for many outdoor activities, and this environment and health event is a great opportunity for residents to get help and advice on how to keep safe during the summer months. The council offers many different services, and we hope residents will take this opportunity to make use of all this information, in one local setting, at one time.” said Councillor Terry Rogers.
