Save the Falcon pub join the Facebook campaign page. A campaign has started to save the Falcon Pub building in Market Square Huntingdon with a Facebook page being the current main focus.

The Falcon is the oldest pub in Huntingdon with the present building dating from the 17th century but there has been a pub on the site for more than 400 hundred years. It is even said that Oliver Cromwell recruited soldiers there. The pub is an important part of the history and story of Huntingdon. It does seem to be a shame that this historic building is being left to rot.

The building has been empty since last orders where called back in December 2008 and there are serious concerns voiced by campaign members that the building itself is being irreparably damaged by this emptiness.

Faye Linnell started the Facebook campaign page at the beginning of February and it now has nearly 300 people following the face which is a fantastic start. You can help to save the pub and building by following the page yourself. Search for “Save the Falcon” on Facebook or click on this link to go directly to the facebook page.
