How Green Is David Cameron?

I didn't vote Tory and I generally disagree with the Coalitions policies at the moment, but I did think David Cameron made a good speech and there are some interesting ideas coming from the Conservatives. I think the Child Benefit policy of removing it for higher earns is basically a good idea in these current times. I don't think it was fully thought through though, hence the back-tracking and the newer idea of tax breaks for couples.

How Green Is David Cameron?
The one thing I was disappointed not to hear was any mention of climate change. As an opposition leader David Cameron had a reputation as a champion of green issues. It seems a miss not to mention it at all. I just hope that with all the talk of cuts and budget deficit that we don't complete ignore our environment.
Commenting on David Cameron's speech to the Conservative Party conference
today, Friends of the Earth's Executive Director Andy Atkins said:
"With not a mention of climate change, this was not the speech we would
have expected from the Prime Minister of the self-declared 'greenest
Government ever'.
"If the UK is to reap the huge financial benefits of developing a
low-carbon economy, bold policies to achieve this must be at the forefront
of government thinking, not consigned to the margins."
I agree we need to be at the front of the development of new technologies for the low carbon economy.
What do you think Huntingdon? You who overwhelmingly voted for David Cameron as Prime Minister.
Do you think we should be pushing forward in developing greener technologies or can we not afford it now?
