Customers at Waitrose are given a green token when paying for their shopping, and asked to contribute to one of three charities nominated each month. A total of £1,000 is then shared between them according to how many green tokens they each receive.
Sallyann Woodthorpe, Chair of the Friends of Hinchingbrooke Country Park said: “We are really grateful for the support that Waitrose customers have given us. This money will go a long way to boost the Friends’ funds.”
The money will be used to support the work of Huntingdonshire District Council’s rangers to buy things such as a new tree to replace a damaged shrub, a rabbit proof guard or a microscope for use by educational groups.”
