Which the best restaurant in Huntingdon and the surrounding areas? That is the question we are asking you in our poll. We have listed eight of the best local eating houses. I have eaten at them all and thought the were good, but which is the best?

So go ahead and vote for your favourite.

Of course your favourite restaurant may not be one those listed. Let us know which others should have been included in our list.

My favourite so far is the Riverside restaurant in St Ives. Small, really decent food using local and seasonal ingredients, an owner who recognises you the second time you visit, & decent prices.

The Dolphin Hotel, there, is pretty good, as well.

The tea-room out at Old Hurst, with the crocodiles, is good for a visit. Nice range of locally-made cakes and teas. Plus you get a good (outdoor) playground for the kids, a parking area (bit hard to find first time, depending on which direction you've come), and a quick wander round a working farm.

Huntingdon? Seems more full of cafes than decent restaurants (except ethnic ones). I've always liked The George, and Newton Court is OK (but crowded).

The Bridge is just pretentious, where you go to impress people (and I'll never forgive them for not even coming over to ask about my mother when she was clearly taken poorly just after her meal there and had to put her head down to recover. Had to wait with her for 15 minutes until I felt it was safe to go to Reception and ask for a taxi. Wotta dump).
