Vet fees
If vet fees were more realistic I think that there would be less animals dumped. Recently my 3 year old dog had to have an MRI scan. The cost £4,500 a phone call made by my vet which was local and only 3 minutes was £22.00 They see it as ok because of pet insurance. My dog had to be put to sleep after the scan as surgery was going to be a further £4,000 with only a 25% chance of him being able to walk again. When I said I could not cover the cost as my insurance cover had been used up I was told I could have an interest free loan repaid over 6 months. I am disabled and retired with no private pension so how would I be able to repay it. We are devastated and disgusted with the vets - yes they have overheads but £22 for a 3 minute local call is stretching it a bit far !!!!
Be realistic with your fees I urge vets and then so many animals will hopefully be less
