New pub quiz question. Where did the 30th Dec 2011 not exist? The answer is Samoa. The pacific island missed out the day as it moved to the other side of the International Dateline to align itself with it's major trading partners. This meant that on the 29th Dec the 180,000 population jumped straight to 31st Dec lose an entire day in the process.

This got me thinking about what if the 30th Dec is your birthday, would you still get presents and cards. You could of course legitimately lie about your age later (by a year at least). What is pay day was the 30th and you were paid electronically if all the computers jumped a day would you still get paid? Would you pay days less interest on a loan?

All sorts of strange ideas popped into my head upon reading this story.

If the 30th Dec could not exist in Samoa what day could be deleted from the calendar in Huntingdon. If we could persuade Huntingdon District Council to move Huntingdon to the other side of the International Dateline and delete a day which day would you choose to delete and why?

Me I would pick the last day of the football season and probably avoid the horror of relegation this season. It's clearly on the cards.
